About Tina

Tina Cushman graduated from the University of Iowa with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado in 2000 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2003. Tina has extensive clinical experience working with children, adults and families in inpatient/residential, outpatient and in-home settings.

Tina's approach to counseling is supportive, dynamic and collaborative. She believes that the client/therapist relationship is critical to the therapeutic process and that together you can build upon strengths to help you alleviate problem behaviors, feel better and make lasting changes.  She believes that we are all unique, and therefore utilize a variety of techniques in session based on the needs of the client.  These interventions derive from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Experiential/Play Therapy and Systems Theory.

As a mother of two young children, Tina particularly enjoys her time working with families as they navigate the complexities of parenting in our ever changing society.  She is also passionate about helping moms, new and highly experienced, to find balance and achieve personal fulfillment in their lives.
